Among them, the statement given by Swami Vivekananda about education is the one that personally resonates with me the most: “Education is that which makes a person spiritually capable, and education is the process of identifying and nurturing the latent talents already present within an individual.” Look at the profound message contained in these two thoughts.
India is a land renowned for its spiritual richness. Apart from India, no other nation in the world has such a profound understanding of spirituality. It is a science of the mind. Our ancient Indians acquired this extraordinary knowledge and achieved numerous remarkable accomplishments. If education, in one sense, means attaining spiritual realization, then in another sense, education means identifying the latent talents already present within an individual, encouraging and giving importance to those talents, and enabling them to achieve excellence in that particular field. The greatest challenge before us today is how to apply and integrate both these dimensions in the field of education in the modern world.
Royal College is an educational institution established in the heart of Mattikere, Bengaluru. The founder of this institution, Dr. Devaraj, is a Kannada lecturer with a deep love for the language and an educationist, and his contribution has greatly supported the intellectual growth of the institution.
