The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a government-sponsored program aimed at developing social responsibility and a spirit of community service among young people, particularly students. It encourages students to actively participate in community development, social welfare activities and meaningful service initiatives.
ಮತ್ತಿಕೆರೆ ಟೋಲ್ ಗೇಟ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚಾರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುವಂತೆ ರಾಯಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಚೌಕಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿಕೊಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಚೌಕಿಯನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದ ರಾಯಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ದೇವರಾಜ್ ಅವರು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಕೇವಲ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಿರದೆ, ಸಮಾಜದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡುವುದೂ ಆಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶವಂತಪುರ ಸಂಚಾರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಸಬ್ಇನ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ನಾರಾಯಣಪ್ಪ, ಗುರುಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಯಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಚಾರ್ಯರಾದ ಡಾ. ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀಶ್ ಹೆಗಡೆ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
